The Holiday Season of Zombies!

I can hardly believe its already the holiday season. Next week is Thanksgiving and then of course the rush usually begins from there.

This year I want to do things differently. I want to slow down and enjoy the season. I want to bake some yummy holiday cookies and maybe have the opportunity to relax and watch a couple of my old favorite Christmas movies. (Its a Wonderful life and A Christmas Story to name a few) I want to spend more time cuddling and gingerbread house making with my family. I want to sit down and just reminisce over Christmas past and enjoy the smells and the decorations.

It all sounds wonderful and then I remember its Robotics season as well...sigh...there goes the relaxing parts of the Holidays!.. :)

Well if anyone out there is in the holiday gift giving mood, check out my daughters fund-raising page for her Robotics team. Its really an awesome program for all high school level kids to empower them to persue a career in the fields of science and technology.
Happy Holidays!

Life is like an E ticket ride at Disneyland

Todays order that brought me to tears came from a woman who lost one of her siblings to cancer. She shared that her fondest memories were of them going to Disneyland together when they were kids. Getting to ride the E ticket attractions were the highlight of their visits. She chose her word "E-ticket" because it reminds her of her fond memories and how those E ticket rides are similar to life...even though its sometimes scary, its always worth the adventure. Check out the keys at www.thejourneykey.etsy.com

Just an ordinary Wednesday

It's Wednesday...an ordinary day...no special journeys today.
For me, an ordinary day is like a piece of good fortune. Although I love a good "Journey day"... ordinary days are much more comforting and serene.
It means I get a break from one of my sweet teenagers telling me at the last minute that they need something for a school project that is due tomorrow! It means no frantic calls to the doctor because my son whom has several autoimmune diseases is having some unexplained bleeding or a side effect from his medications. It means that no bad news from anywhere or anyone has entered into my peaceful day. It means I have some spare time to offer my sweet husband a nice cup of hot tea and actually have a moment to sit down and share it with him. It means I can sit down and actually have the time to give some long overdue attention to this neglected blog. It also means that at the end of the day I get to enjoy a nice long hot bubble bath with a book or magazine in hand.

I love ordinary days, they don't come along very often around here but when they do, I love and cherish every moment of that day!! Happy ordinary Wednesday!
